Videre Leadership supports leadership development at an individual, organizational and professional level, across the health care industry.

What we do

  1. Leadership Development Interventions including off-site and program setting based workshops and retreats using Kouzes and Posner’s award winning 5 Practices Framework and Leadership Practices Inventory.
  2. Personal and Small Group Leadership Coaching Sessions including assessments and personal learning plan development using Myers Briggs Typing, Leadership Practices Inventory, Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instruments, Emotional Intelligence assessments and others.
  3. Consulting on Change Leadership Initiatives including Appreciative Inquiries, and Culture Transitions using our own copyrighted change leadership framework.

Principals
Julia ScottJulia Ann Scott, RN, BA, MBA
Julia is a health care professional with 20 years experience in leadership and management, specializing in organizational and financial analysis, business process redesign, leadership development and change management across the health care sector. She is effective in working with both management and front-line staff, knowledgeable and current with respect to professional standards and skilled in implementing complex change initiatives and in delivering results. In addition to her extensive consulting career, Julia has held senior positions within the health field, including Vice President Patient Services of a large community hospital. She is currently President of Clarendon Enterprises Ltd, a boutique consulting firm. Julia is a Certified Management Consultant.

Beverley Simpson, RN, BScN, MSc, CMC
Beverley Simpson is an organizational consultant specializing in People, Teams and Systems development in health care agencies. She has an extensive health care background, broad experience in staff, management, education and project leadership roles, teaching appointments at two universities, and a wide-ranging network of collegial relationships that sustain her practice and her learning. Bev has developed in-depth knowledge and expertise in developing professional practice roles and teams, creating successful change initiatives, building strong motivated work groups and coaching for mentorship and leadership. Bev works with health care agencies, large and small, across Canada seeking innovative solutions to complex practice and organizational issues.

Judith Skelton-Green, RN, MSN, PhD, FCCHSE
Judith Skelton-Green has more than 25 years of nursing leadership experience in widely varied health and educational settings developing and implementing innovative solutions in start-up, rationalization, transition, and downsizing situations. Since the fall of 1995 Judith has been President of TRANSITIONS, a consulting firm specializing in facilitating human and organizational change. She has consulted to over 80 different clients in more than 120 engagements, mostly in the areas of corporate integration, organizational redesign, leadership development, strategic planning, and operational review. Judith is widely published, and is a frequently sought speaker and facilitator.

Selected Engagements
Designers and facilitators of the award-winning Dorothy Wylie Nursing Leadership Institute since 2001 and the Health Leaders Institute since 2005, the principals of Videre Leadership have integrated their individual skills and extensive experience in a variety of ways and with a diverse client group. They have considerable knowledge and experience with Kouzes and Posner’s Leadership Practices Model, have worked closely with Barry Posner and Jim Kouzes and have extensively used the Leadership Practices Inventory for individual, team and organizational development. Some examples follow.

The Hospital for Sick Children
In 2008 Videre was selected to design and facilitate an inter-professional Health Leaders Institute specifically for selected Sickkids clinician leaders to focus on inter-professional leadership in family-centered care.

Collingwood General and Marine Hospital
Videre is working with the Leadership Team at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital to assess and optimize their leadership and team strengths and opportunities using a variety of performance-enhancing tools.

St Joseph’s Hospital, Toronto
We are working with senior leaders at St Joseph’s to develop a leadership culture and link individual leadership initiatives to strategic priorities using The Leadership Challenge, 360 Feedback, a series of customized workshops and a Coaching for Success framework.

Annapolis Valley Health
Videre is supporting the development of a critical mass of leadership champions (directors, managers, educators, VPs and clinical specialists) using The Leadership Challenge as the organizational framework. AVH has selected and developed with us a group of core leaders who act as leadership coaches and build skills across the Health Authority. As a result, AVH has won awards and been profiled as a magnet employer with a strong and effective leadership culture and a healthy workplace.

Annapolis Valley & South West Nova District Health Authorities, Nova Scotia
Designed and facilitated residential workshops for all nursing leaders in these two health authorities, using a variety of individual and group assessment and developmental tools and exercises. The purpose of the sessions was to improve team effectiveness and leadership potential.

Mental Health Centre of Penetanquishene
Designed and facilitated the development of an organization-wide, multi-professional Mentorship Program using Kouzes and Posner’s Leadership Practices Model.

St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, Ontario
Designed and facilitated a retreat for the Trauma, Neurosurgery and Mobility Program. The purpose of the retreat was to improve the team effectiveness and leadership potential of program leaders.

Mentorship Programs in Chatham Kent Health Systems, Ontario
Designed and developed Mentorship Programs for Nursing for the Health Alliance using Kouzes and Posner’s Leadership Practices Model and Inventory.

Halton Health Services, Oakville, Ontario
Designed and led 2-day leadership development workshops for a group of 40 program leaders in the organization. The workshop built upon Kouzes & Posner’s leadership model, and assisted participants to apply the principles to everyday challenges in the organization.
